1. It's snowed!
Anthony's been talking about snow for over a month; snowmen, catching snowflakes on our tongues, throwing snowballs, etc. Though, the kid has never even touched snow! But I think snow lived up to his expectations for sure!

Itty Bitty Snowman!

Itty Bitty Snowman!
My little snow angel
All the snow melted about 3 days later and now the temps are back up in the 50's but it was fun to 2 days it lasted. :D
2. Adam and I spoke in church this past Sunday.
Ugh.
It'd been 3 years since the last time I spoke and even longer than that since I even wrote a paper! I do NOT remember how to do this stuff.
It was awful and I'm just glad it's over. I told the 2nd counselor, "I'll sing in church whenever...but speaking...yeah, not so much."
I said it in that joking-but-no-seriously kind of tone. Haha.
3. So, I was stalking the blog of a dear friend of mine (who is going to be a famous actor any day now!) and came across a post he made 2 years ago. He reveals the secret to getting anything accomplished!
It's a sticker chart!
I've always been a sticker chart kind of person but I guess I thought that adults weren't allowed sticker charts. We just had to be responsible and fix our faults just like that.
But my friend has shown me that big kids, erm, adults can use sticker charts! Thank you for showing me the light!
My Goal= Wash dishes EVERY night for 30 consecutive days (miss a day, start over)
The Prize= New hair straightener so I can curl my hair. (Confused? Watch this.)
4. Anthony is now a sunbeam. This week went smoother than last week (#4) but he still would MUCH rather go to nursery. He's got an awesome teacher who came over to visit him on Saturday and I really think that helped A LOT because he wanted to sit by her at church!
After church, I popped in the CD of this years Program songs and he started singing along!
I love that he loves to sing and I cannot wait for the Primary Program in the fall to watch my little guy up there singing!
I will cry for sure. :)
5. In case some of you don't know, I'm the Food Storage Specialist for my branch. I laugh when I say 'specialist' because I know beans about food storage!
BUT, I've started another blog which guides us through baby steps of building up your food storage. It's SUPER easy and there's only 1 item (well, multiples of that one item) each week.
So, if you'd like to get started on your food storage, check out my other blog and follow along! :) It's better to have something than nothing!
6. So my camera has been ordered but we just found out today it's been DELAYED for another week!
But it says it in Bentonville.
WHAT'S THE HOLD UP??
I think I'll die of anticipation.
7. Anthony has taken up playing Mario on the Wii. (And not wearing pants.) He's actually getting really good. It's kinda scary.
He's also getting really good at drawing. And writing (he can write H, T and O.) Here's picture he drew of daddy. I think it's awesome.
He's got a beard and everything!
8. So I think I have a new outlook on part of my life. Let me tell you what it is by first explaining how I used to think:
My house is messy. It looks like a 3 year old takes care of it. Housekeeping is not one of my strong points. It's not even a mediocre point for me. I wish it wasn't true and I'm in the process of learning how to right this wrong...Hence the sticker chart for doing dishes. Have you read The Man Who Didn't Wash His Dishes?
Story of my life some days.
Not only that but we like to keep things. Just things. And these stinkin things that we can't let go of clutter our house!
I'm suddenly feeling very exposed right now... eep.
Anywho, because of the constant chaotic condition of my house I don't invite people over whose houses look better than mine (Which is most people) unless I have like, a 2 day notice. And even then there are some people I never want to see my house. Ever. I just feel like they'd be uncomfortable the whole time and that they wouldn't want to be my friend anymore.
So, if I've never invited you over before, it's not because I don't like you, it's because I don't want you to see my toddler-war-zone house. :D
BUT I'm changing that. Not only am I going to work on keeping my house tidier, but I'm not going to be afraid to have people over. I don't want to risk loosing some potentially great friendships just because my house doesn't look awesome.
If they don't like me because my house doesn't look like a model home, then poo on them.
So there. {Phew!}

That's awesome that you have all these pictures of Anthony not wearing pants because like in all my childhood pictures, we're never wearing pants. My sisters and I were always just in our panties. I'm like, "Mom, couldn't you afford pants for us?" Now, the joke's on me because we're potty training this week and Eden's been pantless the whole time (and shirtless a lot of the time, too). I was in my front yard, meeting a neighbor for the first time, and Eden came to the door stark naked. I'm sure we made a great first impression....
Way to make good goals like that! I have similar issues with house cleaning sometimes (more than just sometimes). I also have a m-i-l over every day, which makes me feel extra self-conscious about my not being able to keep the house clean. I try to be better, but I have also decided that if it bothers anyone, poo on them. Besides, there are more important things in life, like spending time with kids while they're little. Keeping the house looking nice will be a constant battle but time to play with little ones is something that will not always be there. So here's to finding that balance between clean homes, sane moms, and happy kids!
I LOVE the idea of a sticker chart! Maybe I'll do that to help my scattered brain! Fun post! I love the snow, no pants and you! You're great!
Oh and I'm totally impressed with Anthony's art skills!
